Additional Services

TRANSLATION, EDITING AND PROOFREADING

Editing (checking that the author’s text or translation is clear) – from £8 to £15 per 1000 words, depending on the complexity of the text.
Proofreading (checking spelling and punctuation) – from £2 to £10 per 1000 words, depending on the complexity of the text.
Translation of PROSE into English from £30 to £150 per 1000 words, depending on the complexity of the text.
Translation of POETRY into English from £1 to £3 per line depending on the complexity of the text.
Translation into other languages is also possible, the cost of translation will be calculated separately depending on the complexity of the text, the original languages and the desired translation.

BOOK DESIGN

Please note that with Print on Demand there is no option to make some pages black and white and some pages colour. Even if some pages do not contain photos and illustrations that require colour printing, but other pages in the book do, a decision must be made whether to print the entire book in black and white or in colour. This will only affect the cost, not the quality of the black and white text. If you wish to order a run of 1000 copies or more, this option will be available with offset printing.

If the book has more than 100 pages, the cost of each additional page is £5 for black and white printing and £8 for colour printing (if the book has colour illustrations, the additional pages will automatically be charged at the colour rate, even if they only contain black and white text).
Printing 100 pages of colour inner block – £450 with a 25-75% increase in RRP (retail price of the book) (the cost of converting 100 pages of basic black and white inner block to colour printing is simply added to the publishing fee).
Professional layout costs £1-3 per page, depending on the complexity of the text and illustrations. Even if the author already has a layout, unfortunately we cannot print it directly (it is likely to be different from UK print formats), so the book will need to be typeset from scratch in any case. If our designer rejects the layout, we will send a template for the author (or a specialist hired by the author) to use, and then we will NOT make any changes to the final layout sent by the author.
A personalised cover (with Guild logo) – £150 to £250. A cover without a logo is only available if the author is not taking advantage of the ECG (London) member discount.
Dust Jacket (removable paper cover with hardback) – £200 with a £2 increase in the RRP (retail price of the book).

BOOK PROMOTION

Writing a press release £100-300 (if a press release is to be written in several languages, each language version will be charged separately).
Publication of the press release in the media: in foreign partner media from £500 to £1500, in national media from £100 to £500.
Collection and inclusion in the book of reviews by literary critics and experts – from £150 to £1,000 per review.
Social media promotion. Costs to be discussed separately.
Participation in the Literary Critics Programme on Amazon to increase Amazon sales rank – £1000 per package of 5 reviews or more.
Mailings to universities, educational institutions and libraries: Europe from £75; worldwide (ROW) from £95; UK from £30.
Extra copies of books (marketing print run for author) – cost may vary depending on RRP.

Documentation requirements for publication
